When my husband and I were first married, I was in a wonderful engineering career but I always managed to find time to create this and that.
As many women are all too familiar, my life took an unexpected change after the birth of my first son. I soon became a stay-at-home mom.
As my boys became self-sufficient, I found myself increasingly eager to start creating....but what?
As my husband walked into our home one evening with a magazine in hand, I had no idea that what I would read would change my life. I thumbed through the magazine over dinner and I turned to my husband and said, "this is exactly what I want to do"! The magazine was filled with tools of the industry that we use everyday to create our beautiful furniture.
From the moment I begin designing, to the first piece of steel that is cut, I am completely transformed. Each step of the process only heightens the anticipation of the completed piece until finally it is assembled and powder coated. The finished piece takes my breath away every time!
I have managed to mesh my engineering background with my love for creating and have found my place as a passionate children's furniture designer.
